Sage is replacing quite possibly the most popular fast
action fly rod in the world - the Sage XP. After extensive
research and development, Sage has created a fast-action
rod that is significantly lighter, stronger, and easier
to cast for all skill levels.
Sage designers have utilized a broad-spectrum of technologies
together in what they call Generation 5 (G5) Technology.
For example, Sage's exclusive analysis software allows
a complete performance requirements evaluation of every
inch of the rod blank, allowing the elimination of all
unnecessary material. Also, the Z-Axis design leverages
the significant advances in their Aligned Fiber Technology,
which replaces traditional glass hoop fibers with lighter,
more responsive graphite. And to take advantage of higher
graphite counts, Sage was required to develop new construction
techniques to align and compress the Z-Axis rods for maximum
strength.
These rods are a better fit to the modern casting style,
with tip strength and balanced power to easily punch flies
into the wind.
